Jeff Halper detained by Israel

Police on Tuesday detained an Israeli activist who had sailed to the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip to challenge Israel's blockade of the coastal region.

They accused Jeff Halper, who also holds United States citizenship, of violating a ban on Israelis entering Gaza.

Halper was among 44 "Free Gaza" activists from 17 nations who sailed in two boats from Cyprus to the Gaza Strip on Saturday in defiance of the blockade.

He spent three days in the Gaza Strip before entering Israel through the Erez border crossing, where police detained him.

Well, I guess that was expected. Hope they treat him well and release him speedily. For those who don't know, Jeff is one of the founders of The Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions. As such, he has been a thorn in the Israeli Admins' side for some time now.

Interesting the ban on Israeli citizens entering gaza?

Don't they want the common folk aware of what is done in their name?

or is it something else?

Pretty much NO ONE is allowed in or out Pen.

Even sick folks seeking treatment.

It's ridiculous that a country (Israel) can claim to be a 'free democracy' yet still resort to the terrorist tactics she used in her founding.

She is her own worst enemy and with the Zionists leading her - the biggest enemy of the Jewish Diaspora, many of whom don't agree with her Administrations actions.
