Seriously Free Speech

Seriously Free Speech

Please visit this site to learn more about CANWEST's SLAPP suit against the activists who last June made a parody of the Vancouver Sun and it's bias reporting on the Israeli/Palestine tragedy.

Check out the above video for a little back ground on this issue.

Then ask: Is it any wonder that we weren't informed about the Security treaty between Israel and Canada, nor have we heard that now the Canadian Embassy in Venezuela will be serving Israel's interests there?

I don't know how I missed this...

Thanks to Michael Rivero, and of course EI:

From Jerusalem Post:

Israel's interests in Caracas will now be represented by the Canadian Embassy. It is not yet clear who will represent Venezuela here.

What??? I never heard hide nor hair of this from any of our media... well to be fair I hardly listen to our media anymore, due to concerns over my blood pressure - but this certainly would have caught my eye.

What the hell is wrong with my country??

I am going to vet this with my MP if I can get the man to talk to me (a near impossiblity).

I'm speechless.

And clearly upset since I forgot to link the EI article here as well:
Canada becomes Israel

Canadian Armed Forces: NARCO COPS

Yes that's right - our once proud Armed Forces is now in the business of being Narcs. Below is a comment I left on CBC forums in regards to the plan by our so-called representatives in Parliament to begin targetting those farmers selling opium to 'Terrorists' (what not the CIA???).

**

The only way to eradicate the black market, crime and corruption which comes with trade in an illegal substance is to legalise it - period.

Impact of Crop Eradication in Afghanistan and lessons learned from Latin American to South East Asia

See part 3:
3 The impact of opium poppy eradication in Afghanistan
3.1 Social tension
3.2 The self-fulfilling prophecy of eradication: Higher prices and
higher profits for traffickers
3.3 Shifting opium cultivation
3.4 Eradication as an impediment to Afghanistan’s reconstruction

It has been demonstrated time and again that prohibition of a substance does not work.

Addiction, whether to legal or illegal substances or vices is a HEALTH issue and should be dealt with accordingly.

The only thing which prohibition encourages is corruption, inflated profits and turf 'wars'. It did not work for alcohol (besides making a few people VERY wealthy) and will not work for any substance.

Let the Afghan people use all of the resources which are available to them in their land - allow for legal production of opium and allow for production of associated medicines in situ.

Unless the goal is further radicalisation of the population, the current approach to the problems of drug abuse (not use) are inconsistent with logical thinking. One of the definitions of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Prohibition has never worked and often makes the problems worse.

I go a few days and look what happens!

Good grief can't a girl get some downtime? I haven't bothered with the blog for a few days, clear to anyone who happened by, but here I am today with some time and in the right mood to take a gander at my tiny and insignificant blog and what do I see as I check my statcounter?

This (among others):

What the heck is that? Who are these people and why are they here - of all places? And why due to a search on Mr. Kaplan's name? Apparantly the USDA is the United States Department of Agriculture, so what are they doing going nuts on this blog?

Is Mr. Kaplan being investigated? We can hope. Though oddly, I doubt it.

Oh and Dee - if you are around and visiting - they were very interested in keying your blog and mine together in their search phrases.

So what does this mean? Probably nothing, maybe something. I could just be having a paranoid moment.
